Clipe and Fractious Baby.
Clipe is always well turned out. Clinging to her sense of superiority, she is quick to report the failings of others. She has no understanding of why she feels so bereft.
Fractious Baby is in a dilemma. He has no sense of security. His pushchair is rudimentary and uncomfortable. Should he take his chances and jump?
In this scenario, Clipe has been left in charge of Fractious Baby. The baby, detecting a cold presence is grunting and struggling.
Clipe, having had no mothering herself, has no inkling of how to comfort him in his distress.
She makes up a story to explain his escape which leaves her blameless.

Swimming Lesson.
Protest is not an option. Her courage deserts her along with the air from the leaky valve. She waits in line to follow orders

Stoker and Gloomy Joined at the Hip.
Stoker feeds Gloomy choice gobbets of pessimism to keep his hope at a low ebb. She’s terrified that one day he will look up, see a rainbow and leave her.

Teething Toddler has no teeth to gnash. He is gumsy and drooling. His first addiction is to the lead paint on the handle which he sooks with gusto. The sawdust-stuffed dog is rammed repeatedly against furniture. He will never manage to negotiate.
